about

When I was 10, Carl Sagan's COSMOS was one of the most spiritually uplifting things I watched. It still resonates today. The soundtrack featured (I would learn later) Vangelis, including a piece called "Alpha". That was played over scenes of Mars as well as other places in the narrative. It slowly began to take on a somewhat Martian association to me, morphing slightly in my head over the years. It was perhaps 20 years before I heard the original piece again. My piece was similar, but not the same. Here was a bit of mine captured in a version. It wasn't a very war-like song, so I considered Mars to be at rest.
